The exhibition presents a selection of works by decased artists who were born in Nowy Sącz or just spent their creative lives here. This collection is an important source of knowledge about the creative condition, artistic, technological and mental preferences of an interesting group of Nowy Sącz artists working in specific conditions of an environment far from the main cultural centres - but having their own aspirrations and specificity.
The paintings presented at the exhibition come frome the collection of the Office of art exhibition, which has been created since 1977. Currently, as the BWA SOKÓŁ Contemporary Art Gallery, it is a branch of the Małopolska Cultural Centre SOKÓŁ since 2010. The collection of works of art consists of over 400 works, which are divided into three collections: the Nowosądecka Collection, the Collection of Painting, Sculpture, Drawing and Graphics and the Pastel Painting Collection.

The whole collection presents in an interesting way the transformations and evolution of both the whole generation of artists from 1970-2010 and individual artists presenting their work in the Gallery.

Artists: Tadeusz Augustyn, Halina Bielczyk, Stanisław Dobrowolski, Jan Powała Dzieślewski, Barbara Gurba, Józef Hałas, Ewa Harsdorf, Zofia Dagnan-Herowska, Stanisław Kuskowski, Kazimierz Kwiatkowski, Czesław Lenczowski, Barbara Magierowa, Jadwiga Marshalkó-Kosal, Jan Olszak, Zofia Pandyra, Ryszard Pietrzkiewicz, Elżbieta Ratayska, Wojciech Sarnecki, Stanisław Szafran, Irena Włodykowa, Albert Załuski.
