The capacity of the art world is not limited by any cubature, territory or the number of places on a cultured podium. Instead of unhealthy competition, it requires only talent, strength of personality and real spiritual freedom.
JERZY FOBER was born in 1959 in Warsaw. In 1974-79 he studied at the Lycee of Fine Arts Antoni Kenar in Zakopane. In the years 1979-84 he studied at the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the studio of professor Stanisław Kulon, where in 1984 he received a distinction for the thesis submission to the grave. In 1982, while still a student, together with Andrzej Szarek and Czesław Podleśny, he founded the artistic group "... who are you". He participated in group exhibitions until 1990. Since 1986, he has been involved in artistic didactics. In 2000 he was awarded the title of Professor of Fine Arts. Currently, he manages the Department of Sculpture at the Art Institute in Cieszyn at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Silesia in Katowice. In 1996-2011 he ran a sculpture studio at the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice.
In 2011-2015 he managed the master's studio of Figural Prejava at the Umeni Academy in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia).
Multiple scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and Arts (currently Ministry of Culture and National Heritage) in 1985, 1987, 1991, 1999 and 2004.

His sculptures are in the collections:
National Museum in Krakow, Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, Regional Museum in Bielsko-Biała, Museum of Contemporary Polish Sacred Art in Kielce, Contemporary Art Collection of the city of Lucerne (Switzerland), Catholic University of Lublin in Lublin, City of Wroclaw - Ceglarski Bastion, Foundation Collection " BORDERLANDS "in Sejny, private collections in Poland, Canada, Germany, Great Britain and Italy.

The exhibition at the BWA SOKÓŁ Gallery will feature 13 sculptures selected by the author from 1990 to 2016.
