This exceptionally rich, interdisciplinary presentation of works by numerous artists makes up the anniversary exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Society of Friends of the Fine Arts in Nowy Sącz. We invite you to the grand opening on Monday, June 8, 2026.
Seven decades represent an entire era in the history of the local community—a time of dynamic changes, aesthetic evolution, and constant dialogue with the audience’s sensibilities. For 70 years, the Society of Friends of the Fine Arts in Nowy Sącz has been one of the most important pillars of the city’s cultural identity. It is a space that not only brings together the local artistic community but, above all, continually shapes the sensibilities of successive generations of Nowy Sącz residents, proving that art is a living and indispensable part of the city’s organism.
The exhibition “In Tribute to the Founders” is a polyphonic, jubilee narrative created by an impressive and exceptionally large group of artists affiliated with the TPSP. The exhibition reflects the association’s immense stylistic and formal diversity. Here, we will see works that defy clear-cut classifications - ranging from traditional painting and sculpture, through unique graphic art, to modern, interdisciplinary mixed media and installations.
The presented works are, on the one hand, an expression of the individual artistic explorations of contemporary artists, and on the other, a deep tribute and expression of gratitude to those who, 70 years ago, instilled a love for the fine arts in Nowy Sącz. It is a bridge spanning respect for tradition and the courage to look toward the future.
